Boy Dies at Pattaya Water Park

On Friday, a 14-year-old British boy died whilst visiting a water park in the resort town of Pattaya. Full details of the tragedy are still unclear, but Thai police have said it seems the teenager had lifted a metal grate under a whirlpool in an attempt to retrieve his goggles and was then sucked into the engine room. Police are investigating why the grate wasn’t locked. Lifeguards at Pattaya Park, a major tourist attraction in the Jomtien area of Pattaya, have also received criticism from the boy’s family for the initial way they responded to the incident.
