Funeral of Princess Galyani
The main funeral ceremonies for the king’s sister, HRH Princess Galyani Vadhana, took place at the weekend and were witnessed by thousands who lined the procession route in Bangkok and millions who watched the events live on Thai television. Crowds were drawn to the Thai capital from all parts of the kingdom to pay respects to a genuinely loved and respected figure.
The principle events of the cremation and gathering of ashes have now concluded, but there will be more merit-making ceremonies which will continue until Wednesday.
