Ko Samui Hit by Floods

Ko Samui and other parts of the south have been suffering from flooding following heavy rain over the last few days. Some roads on the island have been closed and Samui airport was also closed for a time, but was reported to be re-opening for flights this morning. Many tourists were left stranded at Ko Samui airport as Bangkok Airways were forced to suspend all flights to and from the island.

It isn’t unusual for flash-floods to occur at this time of the year, but hopefully the forecast for improved weather by the weekend will prove to be correct. There are already local reports that the situation is improving all the time.
