Liverpool FC Promote Thailand Tourism
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) aims to boost the Thai tourist industry on the back of last week’s visit of Liverpool FC. The English Premier League football team were in Thailand as part of their Asian tour and played out a 1-1 draw with the Thai national team in Bangkok last Wednesday.
During their stay in Bangkok, the Liverpool team were taken to various attractions in the Thai capital including Wat Phra Kaew and the Grand Palace. A compilation video showing the Liverpool team touring Bangkok is to be used in an advert aimed at promoting tourism in Thailand. English Premier League football is hugely popular throughout Asia and the two most widely followed clubs in the region are Manchester United and Liverpool. The Tourism Authority of Thailand will be hoping to increase visitor numbers from countries such as Japan, Korea, Taiwan and Singapore. Arrivals to Thailand from other Asian countries has dropped significantly following recent political problems and concerns over travel and swine flu.
