Thailand’s Queen Sirikit remains in hospital in Bangkok after being admitted on Thursday night with an irregular heartbeat. The Royal Household Bureau has announced that the 78-year-old queen has responded to treatment and her heartbeat is now normal. Queen Sirikit is being treated at the Chulalongkorn Hospital in Bangkok and well-wishers have gathered at the hospital today to sign visitors’ books and wish Her Majesty a speedy recovery.
Thailand’s King Bhumibol Adulyadej was able to visit his wife yesterday. The 82-year-old monarch was himself admitted to Bangkok’s Siriraj Hospital last year where he continues his convalescence.

Her Majesty the Queen left Chulalongkorn Hospital yesterday (Sunday).
