Thailand Confirms Two Swine Flu Cases

Government and health officials in Thailand have confirmed that two Thai people have been treated for swine flu. The two people are recovering after being treated with anti-viral drugs to combat the A (H1N1) virus. Officials say that neither person had been in contact with each other during their trips abroad, but both have recently returned from Mexico. Family members of the two infected have also been examined for the swine flu virus, but have all tested negative.

Prime Minister Abhisit has praised health officers dealing with the threat of the flu virus. He has also called for even extra vigilance at a time when many students will be returning to Thailand from overseas following the summer break.
