Thailand Travel Advisories
In recent weeks, the governments of Australia, Canada, United States, Japan and United Kingdom have issued travel advisories about potential terrorist attacks in Thailand. Sadly, terrorism is a threat to most countries and Thailand is no exception. Obviously it is up to the individual traveller to assess the risk of any journey; be that in their home country or abroad. There have been problems in the deep south of Thailand, and any visitor to the country should be made aware of the situation.
The New Year’s Eve bombings in Bangkok that killed 3 people have still not been attributed to any particular group.
From a personal viewpoint, I believe you have to carry on living your life and not bow to terrorist threats. Other people may see things differently, but Thailand is a fantastic country to visit and, in my opinion, is no more dangerous to visit than Australia, Canada, America, Japan or Britain . . . the very countries who issued travel advisories.
