Citing concerns over the Omicron variant, Thai authorities have announced the temporary suspension of the Test & Go scheme. The changes came into effect from 22 December 2021 and will be in place until at least 4 January 2022 when the situation is due to be reviewed.
- If you have already been approved for a Thailand Pass, you can still enter Thailand as scheduled.
- If you have registered for Thailand Pass, but not yet received it, you should wait for it to be considered/approved. Once approved, you can enter Thailand under the scheme you registered.
- You can still apply for a Thailand Pass, but with Test & Go temporarily suspended, you can only enter via:
Minimum 7-night stay in Phuket at SHA Extra Plus hotel or
Must stay at an approved SHA Plus hotel in Bangkok, Pattaya or Phuket. Duration of hotel quarantine depends on your departure location and vaccination status.
- A second RT-PCR test will now be required at a government approved facility.
Different rules apply depending on where you are travelling from. Different rules also apply to Thai nationals and expats resident in Thailand. Contact your nearest Thai Embassy or Consulate in your home country for details and see the official TAT newsroom site for updates.
