Smoky skies
The annual smog problem is making local headlines with provinces across the north and north-east of the country affected.
Songkran sanuk
Thailand is gearing up for the most anticipated holiday of the year, Songkran. The traditional Thai New Year Water Festival is a time when families come together to enjoy the holiday period. It’s also an event which attracts overseas tourists who want to join in with playful water fights that take place across the country.
There will be an exodus from Bangkok with many workers taking the opportunity to head home for the holidays. Buses and trains out of Bangkok will be especially busy in the lead-up to Songkran. Traffic will be heavy in the opposite direction once the extended break is over and travellers head back to work in Bangkok.
